The challenge
Exploring HealthTech needs for chronic condition management
Choosing a health and wellness app is a high-consideration decision, especially for patients over 50 managing chronic conditions.
We partnered with innovative tech start-up Hero to understand the milestones and barriers patients face on their physiotherapy journey.
The challenge was to identify how digital solutions could support prevention and recovery while reducing the mental load of long-term health management.

The approach
Immersive discovery for app development on our platform
We ran a short-term, four-day community with participants representing three key segments: prevention, treatment, and recovery.
Lived realities
Participants shared their views on health, their future aspirations, and their specific frustrations with traditional physiotherapy methods.
Concept check
We used our platform to assess participant reactions to the Hero Movement concept, gauging how well it addressed their personal pain points.
Participant pitches
At the end of the study, we asked participants to pitch the app concept back to us, which provided a deep sense of their enthusiasm and appetite for the service.
The result
A clearer path for digital support
This deep dive into the patient journey helped the team identify consumer emotional needs and redefine their positioning. By unpicking the nuances of what makes a health app resonate, we helped the client move towards a launch that felt like a genuine support system rather than just another piece of software.
